Spring is (technically) here so that means that warmer weather is just around the corner. With the current weather state of play we too are torn between reaching for berries and corals. In true British spirit we thoroughly believe that if we just roll with it and update our routines the sun shall follow. So it’s time to ditch the smokey eye and embrace the pretty peaches and pastels and every colour in between. Here’s a list of 7 things we’ve altered to make the transition simple and fun.
1. Easy Does It.
Once the warmer weather hits you might feel that your winter coverage is a tad too heavy for your skin, often a dash of conceal to cover dark circles and blemishes with a light dusting of setting powder will suffice. If you prefer a dewy finish why not use a little Bb cream to give you a fresh spring look. Don’t forget that your winter foundation tone will be a shade or two up from your winter coverage so pop and have a colour match session at your favourite beauty counter.
Pretty in Pink.
A pretty peach or pink blush can instantly give a more youthful appearance. Simply swirl a little onto the apples of your cheeks or for a just pinched effect why not try a cheek stain to give a natural look.
It’s a crime not to prime.
Especially when the weather gets warmer a primer will ensure that your Makeup stays in place all day long. This multitasking miracle in a bottle will help minimise pores, keep your skin moisturised and provide a barrier between your skin and the impurities day today life presents.
Ditch the black liner.
To awaken your eyes why not line your your water line with a white pencil. If you miss liner and still need to perfect a daily wing why not go for a pop of colour instead.
Get your glow on.
Now the sun is out to perfect your pretty Spring look a highlighter on the cheek bones, Cupid’s bow, brow bone and a small amount on the tip of the nose will give you a beautiful glow from within look, but remember less is more, being seen from space is not the aim here.
Go for a paler eyeshadow.
We all love a good smoke out however as spring kicks in it’s great fun to swap out the smokes for some new season brights. Yellow is huge this season, team it with a little orange in the outer v and a pop of orchid pink in the crease for a really simple take on a simple sunset eye look.
It’s officially time to ditch the much loved red hues and switch to a pretty coral perhaps. If lipstick feels too heavy for you why not go for a neutral lightweight gloss, perfect for a barely there natural makeup day or to glam up for a night out.
